Located to the south west of the village of Ecault on the edge of a large forest area, Wn272 Immortel is slowly being swallowed by a growing holiday park and expansion of the village, but there are still concrete buildings you can see.
The largest, and perhaps rarest too, is a special construction Mehrkhammer Wasserbehalter bunker (MKWB) water storage building which featured three large chambers for storing drinking water.
Today the building has been sealed and is used by a colony of bats.
At Wn272 there are also the remains of a R502 group shelter – now the foundations of a house – two Michelmannstand heavy matchine gun positions, a Vf2a shelter, and a small ammunition storage bunker.
The campsite owners aren’t fans of the public walking around the site looking at the bunkers so please seek permission from the main reception before visiting.
