Va014 Les Petites Dalles
Small site with plenty of firepower

Va014 Les Petites Dalles site overview

What to see
Located in one of the many clefts in the chalk cliffs of this impressive coastline, Petites-Dalles protected this small cove from raiders with three defensive buildings.
The largest is a R612 casemate for a 7.5cm field gun and this can still be seen today although it is only the front embrasure and flanking wall which are visible in the vegetation.
Above it is an early-style casemate for a 4.7cm, Czech built Skoda fortress gun, and both face to the west along the small but beautiful beach. A small machine gun post stands below the steps to the beach near the sea wall.
The cliff top to the north east was also the site of a small radar station – FuMO Petites Dalles – but most of the buildings now rest in pieces on the beach below. A further 1km to the east is the massive radio guidance site of FuSan Dora located in the village of Saint-Martin-aux-Buneaux.
